Delta State Alumni Association Launches New Alumni Travel Program

Cleveland, MS (09/30/2026) — CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Delta State University Alumni Association is giving alumni and friends a new way to stay connected through the launch of the Delta State Alumni Travel Program, featuring group travel opportunities to destinations across the United States and around the world.

In partnership with Collette, the Alumni Association has planned a lineup of trips beginning in 2027, offering travelers the opportunity to experience new destinations alongside fellow members of the Delta State family.

The inaugural travel schedule includes:

Tropical Costa Rica - April 12-20, 2027

Shades of Ireland - Oct. 14-23, 2027

Christmas Markets of Montreal and Quebec City - Nov. 30-Dec. 6, 2027

Croatia & Its Islands - May 3-14, 2028

Reflections of Italy - October 2028

"We're always looking for new ways to keep our alumni connected to Delta State and to each other, and this travel program gives us the opportunity to do that in a completely new way," said Corley Mullins '06, '10, '23, director of alumni affairs. "Whether you're traveling with old friends or meeting fellow Statesmen for the first time, we hope these trips create some great experiences and give our alumni another reason to stay connected."

Each trip will feature a planned itinerary through Collette, with accommodations, sightseeing and other travel arrangements coordinated as part of the tour experience. Trips are open to Delta State alumni, family members and friends.

Registration is now open for the program's first trip, Tropical Costa Rica, scheduled for April 12-20, 2027. The nine-day tour includes round-trip airfare from Memphis and will take travelers from San Jose to Arenal, Monteverde and Guanacaste. Experiences include a coffee plantation tour, Arenal Volcano, a Lake Arenal cruise and the Monteverde Cloud Forest.

Travelers who register by Oct. 12, 2026, can save $100 per person, with air-inclusive rates from Memphis beginning at $3,729 per person based on double occupancy. A deposit of $698 per person is due at the time of reservation. Space is limited, and reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional destinations will follow throughout 2027 and 2028, including Ireland in the fall, the Christmas markets of Montreal and Quebec City during the holiday season, Croatia and its islands in spring 2028, and Italy in fall 2028.

"We wanted to offer a variety of destinations and experiences so there would be something for everyone," Mullins said. "Our hope is that this becomes a program our alumni look forward to each year and that we can continue adding new destinations in the years ahead."

The Alumni Association will host two Zoom interest meetings this fall for anyone interested in learning more about the upcoming trips. An interest meeting for Tropical Costa Rica and Shades of Ireland will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7, at noon, followed by a meeting for Christmas Markets of Montreal and Quebec City and Croatia & Its Islands on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at noon. Representatives will share additional information about the destinations, itineraries and travel details and answer questions from prospective travelers.

The informational meeting for Tropical Costa Rica and Shades of Ireland will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7, at noon CST. Participants can join the meeting at Oct. 7 Zoom meeting. The meeting password is 123456789.

Those interested in the Costa Rica trip do not have to wait until the Oct. 7 interest meeting to reserve their spot. Space on each trip is limited, and reservation and payment deadlines vary by destination. Additional information about itineraries, pricing, registration and the upcoming Zoom interest meetings will be available through the Delta State University Alumni Association.
