Delta State to Host Women's Basketball Alumni Reunion Aug. 14-15
Cleveland, MS (08/05/2026) — CLEVELAND, Miss. - Delta State University Alumni Association will welcome generations of Lady Statesmen back to campus Aug. 14-15 for the Women's Basketball Alumni Reunion, a weekend celebrating the program's championship tradition, lifelong friendships and lasting legacy.
Former players, coaches, staff and supporters are invited to return to campus for a series of events honoring one of the nation's most successful women's basketball programs while reconnecting with teammates and celebrating the generations of women who built the Lady Statesmen tradition.
"Whether you wore green and white decades ago or more recently, we invite you to come home to Delta State to reconnect with teammates and celebrate the generations of women who built one of the most respected programs in collegiate basketball.
This reunion is an opportunity to honor our shared history, celebrate the championship tradition of Lady Statesmen Basketball and welcome former players, coaches, staff, and fans back to campus. If you've ever been part of the Delta State family, you'll always have a home here," said Corley Mullins '06, '10, '23, director of alumni affairs."
The reunion begins Friday, Aug. 14, with a VIP private meet-and-greet with legendary women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to visit with Mulkey, take photographs and enjoy an intimate reception before the evening's main event.
The Third Annual Delta State Athletics Night of Champions will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. The signature fundraising event celebrates the tradition of Statesmen and Lady Statesmen athletics while investing in the future of Delta State student-athletes. Mulkey will serve as the keynote speaker.
Saturday's activities begin with the Women's Basketball Reunion Breakfast at 8:30 a.m., where alumni will meet the current Lady Statesmen team, reconnect with former teammates and coaches, share memories and participate in an optional post-breakfast shootaround.
The weekend concludes with the Women's Basketball Reunion Luncheon at 1 p.m., celebrating the women whose dedication and achievements established the proud tradition of Lady Statesmen Basketball. The luncheon offers another opportunity for former players and coaches to reconnect while honoring the friendships and memories that continue to unite the program.
"The friendships, lessons and experiences I gained as a Lady Statesman have remained with me throughout my life. Returning to campus is an opportunity to honor the women who came before us, celebrate those who continue the tradition today and reconnect with teammates who will always feel like family. I hope alumni from every era will come home to celebrate the program that has meant so much to all of us," said Leslie McKiernon Jenkins '93, women's basketball alumna.
