Delta State University Alumni Association announces 2026 Pig Pickin' and Homecoming
Cleveland, MS (02/24/2026) — The Delta State University Alumni Association is excited to invite alumni and friends back to campus for two of its most anticipated signature events: the 41st Annual Pig Pickin' on September 5 and the 94th Annual Homecoming celebration on October 24.
Pig Pickin' weekend will once again kick off the Delta State football season and bring together the Statesmen family for a full day of food, fun, and football. This year's event will also mark the start of a new era as Delta State welcomes new Head Football Coach David Dean to campus. Pig Pickin' festivities will include an MBN sanctioned BBQ competition, live entertainment, barbecue provided by the Delta State Alumni Association, and Delta State football.
"Pig Pickin' and Homecoming are more than events; they're traditions that bring our Statesmen family together year after year," said Corley Mullins '06, '10, '23, Director of Alumni Affairs. "Whether you graduated five years ago or fifty, these weekends are about reconnecting with old friends, celebrating Delta State, and creating new memories on campus."
This year's homecoming will feature a wide range of activities designed to engage alumni of all generations. The celebration will include class reunions, campus and community events, and the second annual DSU Under 40 Awards Program, which recognizes outstanding young alumni for their professional achievements and service.
"We look forward to welcoming alumni and friends home this fall," Mullins added. "There is truly nothing like being back on campus, surrounded by Statesmen who share a lifelong connection to Delta State."
