DSU alumnus Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack honored with 2025 NASPA President's Award
CLEVELAND, Miss. - Delta State University proudly celebrates the achievements of distinguished alumnus Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack, '99, '00, who has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 President's Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). This prestigious honor is awarded annually to a college or university president or chancellor who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to enhancing student life through dedicated support of student affairs staff and initiatives.
Warmack, currently serving as President of Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, was recognized for his exceptional leadership at the 2025 NASPA Conference held on March 18 in New Orleans.
"I am immensely grateful to be selected as the winner of the 2025 NASPA President's Award," said Warmack. "My journey in higher education was profoundly shaped by my time at Delta State University, where I was surrounded by caring and intellectually stimulating mentors. Many of them were student affairs administrators who encouraged my active participation in student organizations and leadership opportunities. That foundation played a significant role in my commitment to student success."
Warmack's career in higher education leadership spans multiple institutions, beginning with key roles in student affairs at Delta State University, Rhodes College, Western Carolina University, and Bethune-Cookman University. He went on to serve as President of Harris-Stowe State University from 2014 to 2019 before assuming the presidency at Claflin University on August 1, 2019.
