DSU's Entertainment Industry Studies Chair selected to join Recording Academy
CLEVELAND, Miss. - Delta Music Institute Director and Chair of Entertainment Industry Studies Richard Tremmel has been selected by his peers to join the Recording Academy as part of the new member class of 2024.
Tremmel received nominations from colleague Barry Bays, DMI Artist-in-Residence Steve Azar, and recording engineer Thomas "TJ" Johnson. He also received support from Senior Executive Director of the Memphis Chapter, Jon Hornyak.
Tremmel said, "I'm thrilled to be part of this year's Recording Academy New Member Class and join countless creators and professionals who serve, celebrate, and advocate for music year-round. As a member, I'll have the power to make a difference for my peers, the greater music community, and my own journey. The diversity of the membership is what makes the Recording Academy vibrant and strong. The Recording Academy is most notable for bestowing the GRAMMY Award - the single most coveted accolade in music.
Delta State's Entertainment Industry Studies program offers students a comprehensive and dynamic education in the technological, creative, and business aspects of the entertainment industry through the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Industry Studies degree. With a focus on hands-on learning experiences, DMI students receive the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the field, gain valuable industry knowledge and connections, and develop the skills necessary for a successful career in entertainment.
