DSU's Wiley Planetarium debuts four new films exploring the wonders of the universe
CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Roy Lee and Clara Bell Wiley Planetarium at Delta State University is excited to announce a limited-run series featuring four brand new films that journey from the formation of Earth to the vast frontiers of the observable universe. These captivating shows offer audiences a chance to experience the marvels of space science and astronomy in stunning detail and clarity.
Running over the next two weeks, each film brings to life different aspects of our cosmic home-from its fiery origins to the unseen forces shaping the universe today. With multiple showtimes available, the planetarium aims to accommodate busy schedules and curious minds of all ages.
The featured shows include:
Birth of Planet EarthApril 18 & April 24 - 6:30 PMDiscover the dramatic story of Earth's origins and the cosmic conditions that made our planet suitable for life.
Dark UniverseApril 25 - 6:30 PM | April 29 - 8:30 PMNarrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, this film explores the mysterious components of the cosmos, including dark matter and dark energy.
Unseen UniverseApril 26 - 4:00 PM | April 28 - 6:30 PMWitness the universe through new eyes with this film, which showcases cutting-edge astronomical discoveries made using advanced imaging technologies.
Worlds Beyond EarthApril 26 - 2:00 PM | April 30 - 5:30 PMTake an immersive journey beyond our solar system to visit exoplanets and explore the conditions that might support life beyond Earth.
Tickets are available at the door: $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under, and free for DSU students, faculty, and staff with a valid OkraID.
